For laboratories with occasional lyophilization needs, the dry ice benchtop freeze dryers offer a simple and economical solution. Using dry ice to cool alcohol or other heat transfer solutions to approximately -75°C (-103°F), it is ideal for processing materials with low eutectic points.
The unit features a center well for dry ice and solvent, which serves as both a water vapor collector and a convenient pre-freezing bath. Flasks, serum bottles, and ampules can be frozen by dipping and rotating them in the well.
