The Aleris Class II, Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet (BSCs) provide complete protection for personnel, products, and the environment from hazardous particulates. This includes agents requiring BSL 1–4 containment. It's ideal for handling antineoplastic drugs, genetic material, and other dangerous airborne substances. All models deliver top-level safety and performance, fully compliant with ISO Class 5 (Grade A) per ISO 14644-1 standards.
Designed for flexibility, Aleris BSCs can exhaust ULPA-filtered air directly into the laboratory or through an optional Ventus II Canopy Connection. Connecting a canopy allows the BSC to safely handle small amounts of volatile toxic chemicals and trace radionuclides.
The system draws room air in through the air foil grille and directs it beneath the work surface under negative pressure. This air, a mix of unfiltered room air and air from the work area, is pulled through the back plenum. About 70% recirculates through the supply ULPA filter and returned as clean laminar airflow over the work area. The system passes the remainder through the exhaust ULPA filter before safely releasing it into the environment.
